rough week

So not only am I am artist I am also a mom. it has been a tough week. O had to go to the urgent care on Saturday, she had an ear infection. C had to go to the doctor, get an xray and back to the doctor. he has a fractured finger from getting his finger slammed in a door at school. Sad thing to happen to a guy that is just two. I have so many stories daily about the antics of my two knuckleheads. Most of the time they make me laugh, the other part they drive me crazy. Such is the life of a mommy. Good times!

Life keeps happening

Asilomar, California coast site of Art and Soul Retreat

I started my blog a few days before I had to get ready for a trip to Art & Soul in Monterey California. Then I went to Art & Soul for 5 amazing days. It was my first time at an event like this. For those of you who don't know, Art & Soul is one big mixed media art bonanza. You sign up for different art classes and live and breathe art the whole time you are there. I went by myself which was a little intimidating. Most of the ladies who go to these things have been to quite a few so there is quite a strong community bond. I survived and managed to make a few really good friends. I also made some artwork that I am proud of. I took classes that were out of my comfort zone and for me that is hard. I feel brave. I feel alive. I feel inspired.

Count me in

Blog and blogging two words that were not in my vocabulary just over one year ago. That all changed when I found Superhero Journal. Superhero Journal is a blog written by a very insightful, inspiring woman named Andrea. Funny describing her here because I have never even met her. I just read her blog daily.
So my foray into blogging begins here. Being a bit of a lame-o regarding all aspects of html and web design it will be a learning process for me. I can't even update my own website for crying out loud.

So jump in and hang on, it's going to be an interesting ride
